I recently commissioned local musicians, Rick Zeek and Rhan Wilson of Santa Cruz, to record the African-American spiritual "He's Got the Whole World In His Hands." The traditional song was first published in 1927 in the hymnal Spirituals Triumphant, Old and New. I'll use the song to engage children in my church in an upcoming virtual worship service, but want to share the music with you as well. I've placed the song with pictures illustrated by Kadir Nelson. Nelson is a Los Angeles-based artist who focuses on African-American art. I hope you take a moment to enjoy this music and art and I know you'll be smiling and singing along before too long!
Rick Zeek—vocals, guitar, ukulele, kazoo, clapping
Rhan Wilson—background vocals, bass, tambourine, clapping
June Coha—background vocals

Love the song...I remember singing it when I was a child! I have not heard it in a long time.
